Job Title:
GM OPERATIONS

Direct reports:

  • Business Services Manager

Role Purpose:

  • Responsible for overall management LPG Recovery plant, Business Services, Security and other relevant functions.

  • Core responsibility for planning, directing and coordinating all the operations of the company.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct and coordinate all operations of the organization.

  • Formulate policies, manage operations and plan the use of resources and people.

  • Directing and coordinating activities of various departments concerned with plant operations, safety, finance, accounting, materials and transportation of products.

  • Reviewing financial statements, production and marketing reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and improvement.

  • Establishing and implementing departmental policies, goals, objectives and procedures conferring with Joint Operating Committee members as necessary.

  • Determining the staffing requirements and overseeing the hiring and training of new employees.

  • Monitoring business activities to ensure efficient and effective provision of needed services while staying within budgets.

  • Directing and coordinating financial and budget activities to fund operations to maximize returns and increase efficiency.

  • Overseeing the movement of gas, condensate and LPG into and out of production facilities.

  • Managing community relations and set-up a network of relationships with all local communities affected by operations and pipeline.

  • Devise and implement corporate social responsibility programs that are targeted and effective.

  • Develop relationships with all parties to ensure full support for company activities.

  • Promote company image and strategy through effective public relations, exhibitions and sponsorship.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
  • Western University Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering
  • Minimum twenty (20) years’ experience in hydrocarbon processing design and operations, with minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Manager-level position
  • Experience in LPG Recovery Plants and Upstream Well/ Separation facilities highly desirable

  • Fluency in English required, Arabic will be a distinct advantage


The best fit would be an individual who has techno-commercial experience within an LPG plant and/or gas processing facility and is currently designated as Head of Operations. He should have worked in a multicultural environment and any experience within the Middle East is an additional advantage.
