Job Title:
MECHANICAL/ROTATING EQUIPMENT MANAGER
Minimum Experience:
  • 15 Years domestic and international experience in turbo-machinery and mechanical packaged equipment within the oil & gas industry – 5 of which have been in a management role.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and international standards
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree in mechanical engineering and relevant experience
Technical Understanding
  • Experienced in the specific area of rotating equipment and will be familiar with all aspects of mechanical equipment including; specification and design, manufacturing, interfaces, commissioning and life cycle support.
  • Gas Compression Station / Power Cogeneration Plant design / construction / commissioning experience
  • Possesses general understanding in the areas of rotating/mechanical drilling equipment and its application in drilling operations
  • Design skills associated with complex oil and gas process/transportation projects and drilling operations, including costing options, conceptual engineering, front end engineering design (FEED), detailed engineering design, and dealing with contractors and suppliers
  • The ability to formulate detailed specifications for oil and gas related projects.
  • Conversant with international plant and equipment standards and specifications
  • Co-ordinate engineering and design contractors in the execution of projects and topside modifications, with a bias towards rotating equipment.
  • Ability to analyse customer’s problems, collecting and recording product and technical information on each assignment
  • Provide technical and engineering support for fixed and rotating equipment requirements
  • Supports the commission of new equipment and handover operations as well as supporting in the analysis of equipment failures providing technical support and resolution, ensuring project execution and close out in line with company procedures.
  • Develops, implements and manages operating and maintenance procedures, recommends proper parts stocking and overhaul programs to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements.

  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project related mechanical/rotating equipment content, including maintenance and breakdown of mechanical/rotating equipment.
