Job Title:
SENIOR DRILLING ENGINEER
Job Purpose
- Provide engineering support for all well construction and workover activities including design, contracting, materials and execution of operations.
- Provide in a timely manner relevant information to local authorities to ensure all permits are in place.
- Initiates & Cross check AFE’s. Execute Drilling programmes for Development and Exploration wells located in the two fields LAM & ZDANOV.
- Provide on daily basis detailed cost of the operations versus time and allocated budget.
- Initiates Supplementary AFE in case over budget by 10%.
- Plan well duration and propose solutions for reducing NPT.
- Study bit and BHA performance and propose drilling optimisation.
- Plan for a DTL project for the Development wells in coordination with all parties concerned.
- Study existing casing design and propose the most adequate one for the Exploration/Delineation wells.
- Optimise completion type for Development and Exploration/Delineation wells.
- Implications on the Logistics and environment.
- Produce technical reports on equipment failure and propose solutions. Prepare relevant documents for the Turkmen Government (Competent Body).
- Write down Drilling procedures to be standard for Drilling operations.
Prepare applications for drillin/workover operations ahead of time to be sent for approval by state agency
Analyses incident reports and propose remedial action.
Acts on KPI in order to improve Drilling/workovers performance
Optimize Drilling/completion equipment
Introduces new technology for drilling wells into Dragon reservoir
Make presentation for the Drilling/management periodically.
Prepares and carry out pre-spud meeting on site to all concerned.
Support Drilling staff to ensure all engineering aspects of the planning and operations are met
Liaise with the subsurface groups to ensure required data is available to drill the wells
Assist in the preparation of tenders, evaluation of bids, award of contracts of all drilling and workover related services
Prepare operational Drilling programmes.
Assist in the investigation of non compliances and that lessons learned effectively communicated
Prepare all relevant information to meet all requirements of Turkmenistan regulations as related to drilling and workover activities
Visit offshore to give assistance to drilling supervisor in critical operations
Liaise with Equipment Engineer to maintain a forecast of equipment to ensure sufficient quantities to meet operational requirements
Submit required information to the Turkmenistan authorities in accurate and timely manner to ensure necessary permits are in place

Decision Making Authority and Responsibility
- Engineering design of drilling and workover plans
- Assist in operational decisions which are changes to agreed plans
- Degree in Petroleum Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering.
- 12 years experience with a minimum of 5 years Offshore experience.
- Experience in remote operations including logistics
- Workover activities
- Experience in Directional Drilling of Highly deviated wells.
- Experience in drilling HPHT wells
- Experience in drilling Wells with MLTB System for deviated wells
- Fully conversant with personnel PC
- Fluent in English. Russian optional
