Job Title:
LEAD SUBSEA ENGINEER

Principal Objectives:

  • Coordinate subsea engineering activities and manage the scope inclusive of subsea structures, subsea control system & umbilical design, geotechnical and pre-commissioning/commissioning sub-consultant.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Your responsibilities will include other tasks which your manager may instruct you to undertake from time to time

  • Interface with key stakeholders and other groups within the project

  • Support the Package Managers/Leads in the pre-qualification, tender preparation, evaluation and recommendation process.

  • Maintain awareness and appreciation of project commitments for activities associated with the Ichthys Project.

  • Provide input to systems design. Determine number, type and location of valves.

  • Supply specialist subsea assistance / support in the development of the base case for subsea field architecture.

  • Manage the pre-commissioning/commissioning engineers.

  • Support the Engineering Manager in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports and presentations on project progress.

  • Coordinate and supervise the subsea structures, controls and umbilical project teams on a day-to-day basis.

  • Coordinate development of the subsea structures with the day-to-day support of the flowlines & pipeline project engineers.

  • Co-ordinate / manage subsea system suppliers workscopes and activities ensuring they meet with the projects objectives and timelines.

  • Ensure that the objectives for the project team assigned by the Engineering Manager are implemented.

  • Monitor resources required for successful execution of the subsea and pre-commissioning workscope and notify the Engineering Manager of all requirements.

  • Take responsibility for the correctness and quality of technical work executed.

Qualifications, Experience and Capabilities:

  • 15 years plus relevant experience

HSE Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Support compliance of all activities to HSE and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

  • Participating in, and promoting compliance of HSE and Occupational Health and Safety requirements as part of the risk management process.

  • Participate in any HSE initiatives and programmes.
